FAQ'S GLOW

What does Glow do?

Glycolic acid is a deep cleansing ingredient that makes it easy to wash away dead skin cells and rid the pores of excess oil, bacteria and other impurities. The deep cleansing and unclogging effect helps to minimise acne breakouts, blackheads and whiteheads whilst revealing incredibly smooth, fresh and healthy skin.

Glycolic acid also stimulates healthy collagen and helps to draw moisture to skin cells. This also makes it a potent anti-aging ingredient. As you age, collagen production naturally slows down. Collagen is also damaged by sun exposure, leading to sagging and wrinkled skin. Glycolic acid helps to increase skin’s firmness, plumpness, and elasticity.

Is it good for all skin types?

Glycolic Acid is a fantastic skincare ingredient for all skin types, however, those with particularly sensitive skin should slowly acclimatise their skin by gradually increasing use and exposure.

When and how often should I use it?

You can use Glow every night as part of your bedtime routine, although those with sensitive skin should slowly build up frequency from once or twice per week. Start by leaving on the skin for 30 seconds before rinsing off, eventually increasing to 90 seconds or more. Your skin will let you know the optimum frequency/exposure once you have been using the product for a while.

Is glycolic acid safe?

Whilst ‘acid’ may sound a little scary, glycolic acid is considered the holy grail of natural exfoliating and cleansing ingredients and has been used in skincare products for many years. Glow contains an optimum concentration of 8% glycolic acid, making it effective yet gentle.

Are there any side-effects?

Most people will experience no side-effects at all, however, it is perfectly natural and normal to experience tingling, redness or mild irritation. The exfoliating effect and removal of dead skin cells reveals fresh, live skin which can be temporarily sensitive. If you are new to glycolic acid, we recommend starting slowly and allowing your skin to build a tolerance. In the long term, glycolic acid will deliver impressive anti-aging benefits, leaving your skin looking and feeling fresh and smooth.

Why does my skin look worse?

If your skin is prone to spots, blackheads or acne, it is possible that your skin may look worse for the first week or so. Don’t worry! This is absolutely normal. Glow isn’t making your skin worse, it is simply accelerating the process of bringing spots and blackheads to the surface. Once these have cleared, you will see a vast improvement in the look and feel of your skin!
